Welcome back to The becoming the big knee podcast. I'm your host Djemilah Birnie and you are tuning into minute madness, a little dose of epicness delivered in five minutes or less.
Hello, hello, you guys, it's Djemilah Birnie of becoming the big me. And I just wanted to pop on today and actually do a live podcast recording with y'all outside families in the background, because I wanted to show you what really goes into having a successful podcast, I have people coming to me, you know, asking like, what equipment Do you need, or I see in groups all the time, people talking about wanting to launch their podcast and wondering what is the equipment that they truly need to be able to have a successful podcast. Oftentimes, I see people so caught up in all of this stuff that they end up never even starting their podcast. So this episode, I am doing live outside to show you guys what is truly needed to launch and have a successful podcast, there's really only three things that are necessary, I can promise you, I have all of the equipment, I have, you know, all of the fancy microphones and the lighting and the computers and all of the things to make the podcast the way that we think it is supposed to be right. And I don't use any of those pieces of equipment, I end up recording the majority of my episodes just on my phone right here. So I just want to cut through the noise. Now I how do you start a podcast and have a successful podcast?
without all of the noise and equipment? So what do you truly need? Well, the first thing that you need is you need yourself and you need to have you need to have a viable idea. Right? So what is it that you are trying to share with people? What is your mission? What is it that you want people to know? are you passionate about it? Or are like what is the purpose behind it? So that's the first thing you need to have, you need to have that mission, you need to have the idea. The second thing that you need to have is you need to have a plan, you need to have a plan of action. How are you going to spread the word? What is the even purpose? Like why are you even starting this? Are you just doing it? Because everyone tells you it's the thing that you're supposed to do if you have an online business? Um, are you doing it because you want to connect with new people? Or do you want to make a difference in the world? What is the mission? And what is the plan? How are you going to achieve your goal with your podcast?
What how what's your content repurposing situation? Are you going to repurpose your content? Have a plan? How often are you going to post? Are you going to put together a launch plan? I highly suggest it the reason I was able to get my podcast on to the top 100 was because I had a launch plan. I released an episode every single day for the first 30 days so that I could get the traction on the algorithm. So the first thing you need is you need a viable idea. Right. And then the second thing is you need a plan. And then the third thing, you need a smartphone. That's all you need. I don't care you could do all the research on all the best podcasting equipment. If you want to share do it if you have the means to buy it and you want to do it that way that is fine. But do not allow that obstacle to stop you from doing it. Because truly, all you need is a smartphone, an idea and a plan. And that is all you need. So that is all those are the three things you need to have a successful podcast you guys. This is Djemilah Birnie, signing off
